Who Was The Doctor?

Doctor

Doctors play a vital role in keeping us healthy and alive, making them some of the most respected and trusted professions around. They are responsible for conducting extensive examinations, gathering a patient’s medical history, and diagnosing conditions using various tests. They also develop treatment plans, addressing potential risks and outcomes.

They communicate complex medical information to patients and their families in an understandable manner, ensuring that everyone involved understands the nature of a patient’s health concerns and treatment options. They regularly follow up with patients to assess progress and respond to any questions or concerns.

With his sombre suit, bowtie, and celery stuck to the lapel of his cricket-inspired jacket, Patrick Troughton proved himself an ideal choice as the show’s second Doctor, introducing many of the core character traits that would define all subsequent incarnations of the Time Lord. His indignant retorts and puckish retreats have become iconic, while his refusal to be drawn into the dark side earned him a reputation as an outwardly flippant, yet deeply concerned children’s hero.

It feels almost unfair to rank Paul McGann so high given that he only had one year of TARDIS time, but during his short run he established himself as a solid performer. He started off a little rough with the 1996 TV movie, but once Russell T Davies revived the series and gave him his own regeneration story, he went on to deliver some of its best episodes.
